MOSCOW, December 18 (Itar-Tass) — The visit of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich to Moscow has been indefinitely postponed because it is necessary to finalize the documents which were to be signed during the visit, Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters on Tuesday.
"The working visit of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich was scheduled for December 18. A decision has been adopted to postpone the visit," Ushakov said.
"It is necessary to carry out additional expert work to finalize the documents initially planned to be signed. It will take some time to do that. Afterwards, concrete dates of the visit will be coordinated," Ushakov said.
Viktor Yanukovich will not attend the EurAsEC and CSTO summits scheduled in Moscow for December 19. "Yanukovich will not attend the EurAsEC summit. This summit will be held with no observers attending," Ushakov said.
Earlier, the Ukrainian mass media said with reference to foreign ministry's sources that several concrete documents on Ukraine's cooperation with the Customs Union were to have been signed during Yanukovich's visit to Moscow. In particular, the Ukrainian sources said that a memorandum on possible talks to discuss conditions for Ukraine's joining the Customs Unions was planned to have been signed in Moscow.
