TBILISI, December 15 (Itar-Tass) —— Traffic has been suspended on the Georgian Military Highway due to heavy snowfalls in the Kazbegi District that neighbours on Russia.

Work is underway to clean the road of the snow and ice, but it has been complicated by the continuing snow storm. In some places the snow is 1-1.5 metres high, the department of roads said on Saturday, December 15.

Traffic has also been suspended or restricted on some other roads in the northeast of Georgia.

The situation in Tbilisi is normal, and no major traffic problems have been reported so far.
