MOSCOW, December 13 (Itar-Tass) – Moscow City Prosecutor’s Office has issued warnings to the leaders of Russia’s off-parliament opposition in connection with preparations for the so-called Freedom March, which the oppositionists hope to hold Saturday, December 15.

“The data available to the Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the activists of oppositionist parties and movements plan holding a demonstration codenamed ‘Freedom March’ on the downtown streets of Moscow,” says a report published on the website of the Office of Russia’s Prosecutor General.

“The government of Moscow City didn’t authorize this march as it didn’t manage to reach consensus with its organizers as regards the route of the procession,” the report goes on.

On the face of it, calls for ignoring the authorities’ decision and joining the demonstration in any event have appeared in the Internet.

Moscow City Prosecutor’s Office warns the organizers of the possible street action and the individuals calling on others to take part in them that encroachments on the law are inadmissible and the behavior inconsistent with law will entail responsibility.

To avert the possible disruptions of public law and order, the prosecutors issued warnings to Mikhail Gelfand, Gennady Gudkov, Vladlen Kralen, Yevgeniya Tretyakova, Pyotr Tsarkov, and Sergei Udaltsov.
