Putin’s state-of-the-nation address to focus on national unity

MOSCOW, December 12 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Vladimir Putin will focus in his state-of-the-nation address on strengthening moral values and Russia’s national unity, Kremlin’s chief of staff, Sergei Ivanov, told reporters.

In his address that is expected to take one hour the Russian leader will give instructions to the government on the country’s economic and political development.

“In his address Putin will express his vision of the country’s development in the future. Much attention will be paid to moral values and the issues of national unity,” Ivanov said.

“At the same time the address contains a series of new initiatives for the country’s economic and political development,” he said. “In this respect the whole range of concrete instructions to the government will be announced.”
