MOSCOW, December 12 (Itar-Tass) — North Korea’s rocket launch violates UN Security Council Resolution 1874, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
Moscow calls on Pyongyang to prevent any new actions running counter to UN Security Council resolutions.
“This step of the North Korean side is the violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1874, distinctly banning North Korea to launch any rockets with the use of ballistic technologies,” the ministry said. “Russia proceeds from an assumption that it is impermissible for UN member-states to ignore decisions of its main organ responsible for maintaining international peace and security.”
