NALCHIK, December 12 (Itar-Tass) — A counterterrorist operation regime has been introduced in the city of Tyrnyauz, Elbrus District of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic (KBR), effective from 23:30, Moscow time, on Tuesday, by a decision of Sergei Kmenny, head of the operations headquarters and chief of the KBR department of the Federal Security Service, an officer at the republican operations headquarters has told Itar-Tass.
A militant was killed two hours earlier during a special operation in Tyrnyauz. An officer of the Republican Interior Ministry center for combating extremism was wounded in the head.
