MOSCOW, December 6 (Itar-Tass) – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has issued a demand to the law enforcement agencies to track down, expose and bring to justice everyone involved in Thursday’s assassination of the North Caucasian TV anchorman Kazbek Gekkiyev.
Gekkiyev, 28, was shot and killed when he was going home right after a nighttime newscast. He worked for the regional state-run broadcasting company GTRK in the region of Karachai-Cherkessia.
Investigators and fellow-journalists said his assassination was most obviously linked to his professional activity.
