BRUSSELS, December 4 (Itar-Tass) — Russia and NATO want to enhance general security, which is aimed against no one, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday after a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council.
According to the Russian diplomat, cooperation between Russia and the North Atlantic Alliance “is very successful” in certain areas, such as the fight against drug trafficking, piracy, terrorism, and threats coming from Afghanistan.
At the same time, Moscow wants to know “how NATO plans to be present in Afghanistan after 2014,” Lavrov said. “We agreed to hold a series of consultations.”
