GORKI, Moscow region, December 4 (Itar-Tass) — Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller has described the idea of organizing the CIS football championship as promising.

“There are good prospects,” he said in reply to the question of Itar-Tass on Tuesday making no further comments.

Miller declined to answer whether FC Zenit St. Petersburg would further buy expensive foreign players.

“Ask Zenit about this,” he said.

Russia’s gas giant Gazprom is the general sponsor of FC Zenit.
