Moscow-St Petersburg M-10 motorroad traffic fully restored

A heavy snowfall in Tver Region brought about long traffic jams, about 55 km long, with large queues of long-trucks in both directions

MOSCOW, December 3 (Itar-Tass) — Traffic throughout the Moscow - St Petersburg M-10 motor road "Rossiya" has been fully restored. All motor vehicles, including passenger cars and long-trucks, are riding at maximum-permissible speed at every section of the road, a source at the Traffic Inspectorate center for Tver Region confirmed.

A heavy snowfall in Tver Region brought about long traffic jams, about 55 km long, with large queues of long-trucks in both directions. Traffic police have been working to alleviate the situation. On Sunday, at about 22:00, MOscow time, traffic speed was 10 km an hour, increasing up to 30-40 km at 23:00 and up to 80-90 km early Monday.

The M-10 700-km motorroad "Rossiya" -- Moscow - Tver- Veliky Novgorod - St Petersburg -- is a mainline unility road of Federal jurisdiction, one of the most busiest and problems-prone transportation arteries.
