GORNO-ALTAISK, December 2 (Itar-Tass) —— The fourth tourist, who went missing in the mountains in the Russian republic of Khakassia, was found with heavy frost bites. He was found in heavy condition, therefore, the injured tourist will be transported by an emergency helicopter to Abakan or Krasnoyarsk for the medical aid if necessary, press secretary of the republican main emergency situation department Irina Butenko told Itar-Tass on Sunday.
The team of tourists arrived in the republic from Krasnoyarsk and was not registered, the Khakassia emergency situation department reported. In the afternoon on December 1 four men went riding on four snowmobiles to the mountains in the Ordzhonikidzevsky district, but they did not come back to the tourist base, where they were accommodated. They did not say to anyone about their plans and their tourism route.
An acquaintance of a tourist raised the alarm. On Sunday morning, he called the police and the authorities in the Ordzhonikidzevsky district and said that he failed to get in touch with his friends, who were holidaymaking in the settlement Priiskovy.
As soon as the alarm call came in the alert force of the Khakassia centre for management in emergency situations six rescuers were dispatched to the search area on snowmobiles.
To speed up the search operation it was decided to involve an emergency helicopter Mi-8 in the search.
At the same time the district police officer has attracted people, who were spending their vacations at the local tourism bases, to join the search. Three missing tourists were found alive.
The emergency situation department reported that three tourists were found alive at various places, but quite far from the settlement, where they were accommodated. All of them were found without the snowmobiles and suffered from strong frost bites. One man needed the medical aid.
