TVER, December 2 (Itar-Tass) — The situation at M-10 Rossiya federal motorway in the Tver Region has stabilised on Sunday.

Earlier, heavy snowfalls in the region caused traffic jams of several kilometres.

“Presently, the average speed towards St. Petersburg and to Moscow is about 50-60 kilometres per hour,” press service of the local branch of Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry said on Sunday.

The local traffic police organised planned suspension of the traffic to allow the maintenance services remove snow from the road.

Between Vyshny Volochok and Tver drivers may stop at special stations where they get warm food and may warm up. The region’s emergency hotlines continue working.
