Road police specify that bad weather conditions have stranded trucks

TVER, November 30 (Itar-Tass) — Hundreds of vehicles have been caught up in a huge traffic jam in Russia’s Tver region, the regional road police department reports.

Bad weather conditions and black frost have caused an over 30-kilometer-long traffic jam on the Rossiya federal highway near Vyshny Volochyok.

The road police specify that bad weather conditions have stranded trucks. The department asks truck drivers to refrain from using the federal highway or leave their trucks at nearby parking places and wait for the situation to improve.

Meanwhile, strong winds up to 20 meters per second and precipitations are expected in the Tver region on Friday, the Ministry for Emergency Situations reports. Under instructions of Tver Region Governor Andrei Shevelyov, an emergency meeting of the regional commission for emergency situations has been convened.
