MOSCOW, November 30 (Itar-Tass) — The opposition forces have applied to the Moscow mayor’s office for a procession in the city on December 15. The decision on the procession was made earlier by the Coordinating Council of the Opposition (CCO).

Member of the CCO Sergei Davidis told Itar-Tass that the applications have been submitted for two routes. “The first is from Kaluga Square down Yakimanka Street to Lubyanka Square, the second – from Novokuznetskaya Street through Sadovnichesky Drive, Solyanka Street to Lubyanka Square,” he said.

“Since the main purpose of the procession will be the support of political prisoners, we have chosen as the terminal point Lubyanka Square where there is the stone in memory of victims of political repression,” Davidis said.

The CCO has approved three major slogans of the action: “Freedom to Political Prisoners,” “No to Dictatorship” and “Early Elections.”

The declared number of the procession participants is 50 thousand people. The opposition forces this time decided to abstain from holding a rally.

The Coordinating Council of the Opposition hopes that the mayor’s office will authorise one of the two routes. The notice of the procession indicates the purpose of the action: “to express attitude to violations of human rights and Russian legislation.”
