Director of Russia's federal financial service dies at age of 42

He took several courses of treatment in Germany recently and manged to improve his condition to some degree but the illness overpowered him eventually

MOSCOW, November 29 (Itar-Tass) —— Director of Russia's Federal Service for Financial and Budgetary Supervision /Rosfinnadzor/, Konstantin Sedov has died at the age of 42.

Rossiyskaya Gazeta governmental daily said in a report on his death published on its website that Sedov had been ill with cancer. He took several courses of treatment in Germany recently and manged to improve his condition to some degree but the illness overpowered him eventually.

Sedov, whom his former colleagues describe as a highly expert economist, got an appointment to the position less than two monnths ago. In the past, he has been a Deputy Governor of the Moscow region (from July 2009 through to May 2012).

"As an official, he preferred working with figures rather than with people and still he was an extremely hearty and smiling person," a former colleague of his at the Moscow region administration told Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
