MOSCOW, November 29 (Itar-Tass) — The police have exposed theft of three billion rubles from the budget of St. Petersburg, earmarked for repairs to be done on thermal power and water supply infrastructures, the Interior Ministry’s press-center has told Itar-Tass.
“The chief office of the economic security and anti-corruption department in cooperation with the Interior Ministry’s office for the Western Federal District have exposed an organized group suspected of theft of funds meant for repairs of thermal power and water supply facilities from the budget of St. Petersburg. The damage is estimated at three billion rubles,” the Interior Ministry said.
