Accident at Kaliningrad heat and power plant leaves one woman dead

About 300 houses, where about 25,000 live, remain without heating supplies

KALININGRAD, November 27 (Itar-Tass) — A technology accident at Kaliningrad’s heat and power plant 1 left one woman dead, press service of the regional branch of the Emergency Situations Ministry said on Tuesday.

“At 07:30 local time, we received information about a failure in the heat and power plant’s technology process due to disorders of the equipment there. A woman, born in 1951, got grave burns and died,” head of the press service Alexei Baranov said.

About 300 houses, where about 25,000 live, remain without heating supplies.

The emergency teams, rescuers, and doctors are working at the site. Specialists plan to restore the supplies by 12:00 local time /13:00 Moscow time/.
