MOSCOW, November 26 (Itar-Tass) — Vice-Premier Dmitry Rogozin, speaking in a live broadcast of the First Channel's "Posner" programme, said he has no presidential ambitions.
"I do not entertain any presidential ambitions at all," the official emphasized. "However, I am ambiitous to suceeed in my present job, that is, I want to work for several years in the position which I have been entrusted with and secure that the flywheel of the Russian industry begins to operate in our country in three to four years' time".
Rogozin explained that the person's position must be up to the possibility to accomplish a task which is set to him. "My position is quite sufficient to accomplish the task that I set to myself," the Vice-Premier stressed.
Rogozin said that the fact that he travels about the country, writes keynote articles and fights corruption does not signifu in any way his desire to run for presidency. "Is it so that all those who seek to fight corruption and who travel about the country are all presidential hopefuls? I don't think so," he said.
"My position of a member of President (Vladimir) Putin's team gives me a great creative and professional pleasure. It is also very comfortable to work in the team Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. I am trusted there, and certain hopes are set upon me. I want to justify these hopes. I am utterly uninterested in taking part in games concerning presidential ambitions".
He added that if there were such an interest he would not have worked in the government. "I would have said honestly that I've got different ideas and thoughts. I would have formed a political party. The more so as it is not so difficult to do that now," the Vice-Premier said. "However, I do not want to think about that. Because I am a substantive Vice-Premier. I do my work and I think that I have (already) nourished the rudiments of (forthcoming) results".
