An-2 hard landing in Yugra leaves nine injured

MOSCOW, November 25 (Itar-Tass) — An An-2 jet made a hard landing in the Khanty-Mansi autonomous district. The plane had nine people on board, the regional branch of Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry reported on Sunday.

“Two passengers were taken to hospital, and presently doctors consider whether to take the rest to hospital,” the source said. “There are no casualties.”

On board the aircraft were the captain, eight commander / PIC / 8 paratroopers and one instructor. The flight’s purpose was dropping of DOSAAF parachutists .

According to preliminary explanations from the aircraft’s captain, at the initial stage of the rise, the engine stated operating unstably. The captain was trying to land, and the airplane was destroyed and burned down. Three injured received medical assistance on the spot, several people were taken to hospital. Nobody is reported dead.

Commission of Tyumen’s department of Rosaviatsiya has left for the site.
