MOSCOW, November 24 (Itar-Tass) —— The fire at the oil tank cars derailment site in the Krasnodar Territory is extinguished.
The open fire on four oil tank cars is put out. Nobody was hurt. There are no passenger train delays, a source at the Russian Emergencies Ministry's information department told Itar-Tass on Saturday.
There is no threat to people and no threat of oil pollution of reservoirs, the source said.
The accident occurred at about 06:00 Moscow time on Saturday. According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, 13 tank cars filled with crude oil derailed in the Temryuk district. Four to the cars caught fire.
Earlier, the North Caucasian Railways press service told Itar-Tass that the accident occurred at the oil terminal of the Tamanneftegaz company near the railway station of Vyshestebliyevskaya. The train of 65 tank cars arrived to the site for unloading. Twelve cars derailed, and six caught fire. Six cars remained lying on the side. The rest were removed to a safe place.
There is no threat to the population, as the tracks are used only for unloading, but not for movement of passenger and freight trains, a railway source said.
