Official report of Sukhoi Superjet crash in Indonesia to be published in December

The Indonesian authorities on Thursday issued the national approval of the plane’s certification, which allows for operating the Sukhoi Superjet on the Indonesia market

MOSCOW, November 24 (Itar-Tass) — The official report of the probe into the Sukhoi Superjet-100 crash in Indonesia will be published in the middle of December, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told a news briefing on Friday.

The Russian-built liner was making a demonstration flight on May 9, 2012 with 45 people on board. Radio contact with the plane was lost twenty minutes after takeoff. The plane’s debris were found on a steep slope of Mount Salak approximately 64 kilometers away from the Indonesian capital. There were no survivors.

“In the middle of December the results of the investigation will be made public, if no fresh evidence surfaces by that time,” Manturov said, adding that Indonesia on Thursday validated the Superjet’s international certificate.

The Indonesian authorities on Thursday issued the national approval of the plane’s certification, which allows for operating the Sukhoi Superjet on the Indonesia market.

Manturov said “the Indonesian authorities have no objections against the aircraft and the first Superjet will be delivered to the Indonesian customer by the end of this year.”

The Indonesian aviation authorities in the middle of last October finalized their own report of the crash to have formally circulated it among the parties involved in the investigation.
