MOSCOW, November 23 (Itar-Tass) — Construction of a new base for the Russian Black Sea Fleet is likely to be completed by 2020, Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief, Admiral Viktor Chirkov said on Friday.
“A geoport for new-generation ships and submarines is under construction in Novorossiysk," he said. "The program has being implemented for a long time already and I hope we’ll round up construction in full by 2020,” he said.
The Spetsstroi Company is in charge of the project in Novorossiysk, Chirkov said.
“There’s a lot of work to do and the work there is difficult,” the admiral said.
