Murder of chief designer of military design bureau fixed on CCTV camera in Tula street

Detectives are investigating all possible murder theories

TULA, November 22 (Itar-Tass) — The detectives are investigating all possible murder theories of Vyacheslav Trukhachev, the chief designer of the military central research-and-development bureau of firearms and hunting rifles, which is a subsidiary of the Tula Instrument Design Bureau. The regional law enforcement agencies are investigating actively the murder, which was fixed on a CCTV street camera.

Head of the Tula regional investigation department in the Russian Investigation Committee Tatiana Sergeyeva and head of the Tula regional police department Sergei Galkin told a press briefing on Thursday that “the state secret specialization of the enterprise will not hamper the investigation.”

The detectives are interrogating colleagues of the killed chief designer that are witnesses in this criminal case. The criminal case was opened under Article 105 Part 1 of the Russian Criminal Code for murder. The best detectives in the region are investigating the murder. Prosecutor of the Tula Region Oleg Chernysh put the investigation under special control.

However, “it is too early to make conclusions, as only 15 hours passed since the moment of the crime,” Tatiana Sergeyeva noted. The detectives are investigating all possible murder theories, including professional activities of the murder victim, his relations at the workplace and personal motives. The version of contract killing is also being investigated, the senior police officials told a press briefing.

“The killed designer is characterized in the positive way, was engaged only in science, always walked home from the office. The killer obviously knew about it,” Sergei Galkin noted. The circle of people, who have some information that can promote the investigation into the murder, is under investigation.

The murder was committed at about 19:30 Moscow time on Wednesday evening, when the murder victim went out from the office. The contract killer shot him down in the head from a pistol with the silencer just about 200 meters away from the entrance of the central research-and-development bureau of firearms and hunting rifles on one of main avenues in Tula. The cartridge shell from the pistol PM was found at the murder scene, but, according to some estimates, the gunfire was waged from the homemade firearms.

The murder was fixed on CCTV street camera, which showed the criminal without a mask. It is not ruled out that he had some accomplices.
