Police bust major gambling house in Novy Arbat in Moscow

All gambling equipment was confiscated, the search for the masterminds of the gambling house continues

MOSCOW, November 22 (Itar-Tass) — The economic security department of the Moscow police busted a major gambling house in Novy Arbat Street, where the gamblers were playing poker and roulette, chief press officer of the department for economic security and counteraction to corruption Irina Volk told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

The economic security department received the detective information that an illegal gambling house operates in Novy Arbat Street. The investigation showed that the gambling house occupied two storeys in the non-residential four-storey building and had a separate entrance. The all-round video monitoring was provided along the parameter of the building and the adjoining territory, the entry was made only through the code-locked doors after a preliminary telephone call to the administrator and only on the recommendations of the reliable gamblers.

“There were special tables for poker, four tables for roulette and 34 slot machines in the gambling halls. All gambling equipment was confiscated, the search for the masterminds of the gambling house continues,” Volk said.
