MOSCOW, November 22 (Itar-Tass) — The governor of the Moscow Region will lead the regional government, the Moscow Region Duma reported on Thursday.
The Duma has approved amendments to the Regulations and other documents. The position of deputy governor, chairman of the Moscow Region government will be excluded of the list.
Thus, the powers of acting governor of the Moscow Region, Andrei Vorobyov, are being expanded. Vorobyov will take the lead of the regional government.
So the region will be governed in compliance with the scheme, which was effective under the rule of Governor Boris Gromov. He was also head of the regional government. Sergei Shoigu, who replaced Gromov in May, put an initiative to introduce the position of second deputy governor – chairman of the government.
