Two policemen & a civilian die in bomb explosions in Dagestan

Second explosion occurred when mine disposal experts were working at the scene

MAKHACHKALA, November 21 (Itar-Tass) — Two policemen and a civilian have reportedly died in two bomb explosions near the Vitas-Bank subsidiary in the Dagestani village of Shamilkala, the Untsukulsky district of Dagestan.

“A self-made explosive device went off near the bank’s entrance doors at around 09:00 Moscow time,” a representative of the republican investigative department of the Russian Investigation Committee, told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

The second explosion that occurred at midday when mine disposal experts were working at the scene killed three people, including two policemen and the former premises owner, law enforcers told Itar-Tass. The policemen included an employee of the local police department and a policeman from the Nizhny Novgorod region. A third policeman was wounded and taken to hospital.

A criminal lawsuit may be filed in connection with the blasts.
