New charges brought against Opposition activist Leonid Razvozzhayev

Charges have been brought in connection with a crime committed in Angarsk in 1997

MOSCOW, November 21 (Itar-Tass) — Leonid Razvozzhayev who is a defendant in the criminal case over the preparation of mass disorders, opened after the film “Anatomy of a Protest-2” was shown, is facing additional charges of robbery, spokesman for Russia’s Investigative Committee (SK) Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass.

According to him, the charges have been brought in connection with a crime committed in Angarsk in 1997.

The case over the preparation mass disorders was opened against the Left Front movement leader Sergei Udaltsov, his assistant Konstantin Lebedev, and Leonid Razvozzhayev, an aide to member of the State Duma Ilya Ponomarev, after checking the facts shown in the film “Anatomy of a Protest-2.” According to the investigators, the footage shows a meeting of the opposition members with the head of the Committee on Defence and Security of the Georgian Parliament, Givi Targamadze, and the discussion of the issue related to the preparation of mass disorders in Russia with foreign funding.

Within the case Udaltsov has been released on recognisance not to leave, and Lebedev and Razvozzhayev were arrested. Charges have been brought against all the three. They could face up to five years in prison.
