During an operation conducted in the settlement of Gubden in the Karabudakhkentsky district overnight to November 20 to verify information that the so-called "amir" of the Gubden gang might be in hiding there, servicemen of a special rapid deployment force unit (SOBR) blockaded the house where the bandit was. The bandit opened gunfire at the SOBR servicemen. Two of them were seriously wounded. The SOBR fired in retaliation, liquidating the gunman. He was identified as Taimasov Taimas, 43, a descendant of the village of Gubden and who was also known under the nicknames of “Taison” and “Taimaskhan" He had collaborated with illegal armed formations since 2009. In June 2011 he joined the Gubden illegal armed formation and became its ringleader in December 2011.

According to NAC sources, Taimasov was involved in many crimes of a terrorist character. In October he organized an explosion of an OMON unit from Perm in which one policeman was killed and two more wounded. Taimasov took part in the assassinations of peaceful residents, including his own fellow village folk and religious activists who openly condemned the activities of illegal armed formations.
