Russia ready to submit draft resolution on Gaza crisis

First, it will call for an immediate stop of the violence in order to ensure ceasefire

UNITED NATIONS, November 19 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia is ready to submit a draft resolution pnm the Gaza crisis to the U.N. Security Council, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin said on Monday, November 19, after consultations on the situation in the Palestinian enclave.

“We are ready to present in the Council a draft resolution that will consist of three principal parts. First, it will call for an immediate stop of the violence in order to ensure ceasefire. Second, it will support all international and regional efforts to settle the situation in a peaceful and political manner. Third, it will call for a resumption of talks between Israelis and Palestinians in the broader context of Palestinian-Israeli conflict,” Churkin said.
