Anti-terrorism operation regime introduced in Baksan district in Kabardino-Balkaria

During the anti-terrorism operation on the foresaid territory several special measures and temporary restrictions will be in effect until special orders

NALCHIK, November 18 (Itar-Tass) — The anti-terrorism operation regime has been introduced since 12:00 Moscow time on Sunday in the Baksan district in Kabardino-Balkaria, the republican operations headquarters told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

“The anti-terrorism operation was launched on the following territory: the Baksan-Karagach road, the administrative border between the Baksan and Prokhladnensky districts in the republic, the Baksan-Altud road and the Mokraya Psarysha River,” the operations headquarters reported.

The anti-terrorism operation regime was introduced by head of the Federal Security Service department in Kabardino-Balkaria – chief of the operations headquarters Maj. Gen. Sergei Kmenny to avert terrorist acts, ensure security of people, organizations and agencies, as well as search for and detain hiding gunmen. During the anti-terrorism operation on the foresaid territory several special measures and temporary restrictions will be in effect until special orders.

Two bandits, who put up armed resistance to the law enforcement agencies, were destroyed in the forest on the outskirts of the village Baksanenok overnight to Sunday. One of them was identified as Ruslan Mishkhozhev, who was involved in the armed attacks on the law enforcers and the extortion of big sums of money from businesspeople and has been on the federal wanted list since 2011.
