Worldwide known Russian film director Eldar Ryazanov has made over 30 perfect films,

MOSCOW, November 18 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated a famous Russian film director, screenwriter and People’s Artist of the Soviet Union Eldar Ryazanov on his 85th birthday, the Russian presidential press service reported on Sunday.

“You belong to a world-renowned constellation of masters, whose creative works enriched remarkable traditions of the domestic art of filmmaking and went down with a bright page in the cultural life of the country. Your talent, the ability to select a brilliant, really star cast, the desire to give a part of your soul in each work of your art are the main components of your professional success, a long and happy life of your films on the screens that became a true classics of the modern film industry,” Putin said in his congratulatory telegram.

Worldwide known Russian film director Eldar Ryazanov has made over 30 perfect films, including Carnival Night (1955), Hussar Ballad (1962), Beware of the Car (1966), The Irony of Fate (1975), Office Romance (1977), The Garage (1979), A Cruel Romance (1984). Ryazanov's main genre is tragicomedy.

Along with this, Ryazanov was a successful anchorman of several TV programs, is writing books and poems, which he presented as the translations of the foreign authors at first, but then he published his own collection of poems. Ryazanov’s creative legacy is deservedly awarded. Eldar Alexandrovich Ryazanov holds the title of People’s Artist of the Soviet Union, the laureate of several State Prizes and the Nika Awards and the Triumf Prize, the cavalier of the Order of Friendship of Peoples, the Order of the Red Banner of Labour and the Order of Merit for the Fatherland.
