MOSCOW, November 16 (Itar-Tass) — The police detained three men, who robbed the church, hot on their traces in the Ivanovo Region, the press centre of the Russian Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Friday.
The robbery was committed at the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God, which is situated in the village Pistsovo in the Komsomolsky district, on Thursday.
The thieves broke in the church and stole ten icons, the altar New Testament, two copper crosses, the brass crucifixions and the wooden folding icon Crucifixion.
“The regional police detained two people with previous convictions and an unemployed man during the search. The stolen shrines were confiscated and brought back in the church,” the press centre said.
