VIENNA, November 15 (Itar-Tass) — Georgia has not taken concrete steps yet to normalise relations with Russia, secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev told Itar-Tass on Wednesday, November 14.

“Relations between our countries spoilt on the initiative of Georgia. That is why steps towards normalising relations should be taken primarily by Georgia,” Patrushev said.

“These steps envision deeds and not words. We hear many words when they pronounce on the air, but there are no concrete deeds,” he stressed.

It is necessary to rely on concrete deeds and not on words in decision-making, the secretary of the Russian Security Council said.

He is in Austria on a working visit. During the stay, Patrushev met Austrian Federal Chancellor Werner Faymann, Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner and secretary of state of the Ministry for European and International Affairs Reinhold Lopatka.

The talks focused on prospects for bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the field of security and ways to counter common threats. Russia invited the Austrian plenipotentiary envoys to take part in the 4th meeting of high-ranking representatives who are in charge of security issues. The meeting is scheduled to take pace in Vladivostok. In addition, the Austrian interior minister was invited to visit Moscow in order to continue the dialogue.
