Prime Minister expresses condolences to family of famous actor.

The actor will be buried in Kazanskoye cemetery in the town of Pushkin near St. Petersburg today

MOSCOW, November 14 (Itar-Tass) — Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has sent a message of condolences to the family of famous actor and TV host, People's Artist of Russia Ilya Oleinikov who died in hospital in St.Petersburg on Sunday, the press service of the Russian government said.

"Ilya Lvovich Oleinikov was a famous actor, a charming man of diverse talents who was known to all in Russia and was loved by millions of people in this country. His superb knowledge of the profession, a kin sense of humor helped him create bright images in the cinema. His TV show "Gorodok" (The Township) in which Oleinikov performed for more than 20 years, was tremendously popular with the TV audiences of different generations.

Ilya Oleinikov is no longer with us, but the splendid characters he created remained with us along with the tender reminiscences of the gifted man," Medvedev said.

The actor will be buried in Kazanskoye cemetery in the town of Pushkin near St. Petersburg on Wednesday.
