GORKI, November 12 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian government will allocate 90 billion roubles for the development of the rural territories until 2020, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting with his deputies on Monday.
“Today I signed a special document, the concept of a federal target program for sustainable development of rural territories from 2014 to 2017 and for a period until 2020, which is targeted at the creation of normal conditions of life in the rural districts,” he said.
The funding from the federal budget for these years is quite good – 90 billion roubles, but these tasks cannot be resolved without the mechanism of co-financing in the Russian rural districts, he noted.
The concept envisages the improvement of housing conditions for people, who live in rural districts, including young families and young specialists, the sweeping development of the facilities of social and engineering infrastructure in rural settlements, the support in grants for local initiatives of people, who live in rural districts, the improvement of the living conditions, the promotion and popularization of the achievements in the development of rural territories.
The program is expected to be implemented gradually in 2014-2020. The first stage (2014-2017) envisages the overcoming of major interregional differences in the level and quality of life of the rural population. The second stage (2018-2020) envisages the acceleration of the social development in the rural districts according to a forecast growing need in the creation of comfortable conditions of life in rural districts.
