15 members from the former council were not appointed

MOSCOW, November 12 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed members of the presidential council on the development of civil society and human rights, the Kremlin press service reported on Monday.

According to the press service, 15 members from the former council, including A.A. Gannushkina, S.A. Gefter, I.N. Lukyanov, D.B. Oreshkin, E.A. Pain, E.A. Panfilova, B.P. Radzikhovsky, and A.K. Simonov, were not appointed to the new council.

The new council has 39 members, including A.V. Babushkin, chairman of the interregional public charity and human rights organization Committee for Civil Rights, E.A. Bobrov, chairman of the Interstate Televisions and Radio Broadcasting Company Mir, M.A. Bolshakova, head of the interregional public organization Human Rights Organization Voskhod, I.B. Borisov, chairman of the council of the All-Russia public organization Russian Union of Families of Servicemen, A.M. Verkhovsky, chairman of the council of the All-Russia public organization Russian Public Institute of the Election Law, E.P. Glinka, director of the information and analysis centre Sova, I.E. Diskin, director general of the Moskovsky Komsomolets Editorial Board, editor-in-chief of the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper and chairman of the public organization Moscow Union of Journalists, Yu.A. Kostanov, artistic director and principal director of the Aleko Theatre, S.A. Kucher, chairman of the presidium of the Moscow Bar Association Partnership of Lawyers, A.G. Kucherena, journalist, L.V. Nikitinsky, president of the regional public foundation for counteracting organized crime and corruption ANTIMAFIA, L.G. Parfenov, secretary of the All-Russia public organization Russian Union of Journalists, N.K. Svanidze, managing partner of the law bureau Slavic Legal Centre, E.A. Topoleva-Soldunova, deputy chairperson of the Russian State Duma committee for labor, social policy and veteran affairs, secretary general of the All-Russia public organization Russian Paralympic Committee, I.M. Khakamada, director of non-profit organization Agency of Social Information, M.L. Shevchenko, chairman of the Russian trade union of workers of construction and service organization.

The presidential decree comes into force on the day of signing.
