MAKHACHKALA, November 12 (Itar-Tass) — Rural mosque imam Gadzhi Aliyev was killed in Khadzhalmakhi Village in Dagestan's Levashi District on Sunday.
An official at the Investigation Committee of Russia (SKR) department for the republic told Itar-Tass, "The 49-year-old minisiter of religion was gunned down by unidentified attackers in the yard of his home at about 19:30, Moscow time." He died of wounds on the spot. There were supposedly two killers.
An investigation groups is at work at the scene of the incident.
