Another 3 defendants in Bolotnaya criminal case face final charges

Detectives brought final accusations against Alexandra Dukhanina, Yaroslav Belousov and Vladimir Akimenkov

MOSCOW, November 8 (Itar-Tass) — Another three defendants in the criminal case over the disorders on the Bolotnaya Square face final charges.

“Today the detectives brought final accusations against Alexandra Dukhanina, Yaroslav Belousov and Vladimir Akimenkov,” the Russian Investigation Committee told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

After all investigative actions the criminal materials will be submitted in the prosecutor’s office to be passed in the court later.

“The detectives accused Yaroslav Belousov of involvement in massive disorders and the use of violence against a law enforcer. The detectives found that he was hurling stones and pieces of asphalt at policemen, was breaking through the cordons and was hitting the law enforcers,” the Investigation Committee said.

Alexandra Dukhanina is also accused of the use of violence against policemen, who ensure the public order. “Vladimir Akimenkov is charged with involvement in massive disorders,” the representative of the Investigation Committee said.

The Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow is trying a criminal case against Maxim Luzyanin, who is another suspected participant in the disorders on the Bolotnaya Square. During the preliminary investigation he pleaded guilty completely and confessed.

On May 6, the opposition action authorized by the state authorities grew into clashes with the police and massive disorders. The demonstrators were attempting to break through the police cordons. Some of them were hurling the bottles, flares, particularly trying to tear of the helmets from the policemen. On that day more than 400 people were detained for illegal actions, about 30 policemen were injured, several tens of people were wounded. There are 18 defendants in the criminal case.
