Criminal case opened over fire in residential house killing seven in Perm region

Fire in a 22-stoyer apartment house was reported at 06:42 local time (04:42 Moscow time)

PERM, November 8 (Itar-Tass) — A criminal case has been opened over a fire in a residential house in the settlement of Sars, Perm region, that killed seven, including three children, a spokesman for the Russian Investigations Committee told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

According to the spokesman, the criminal case was opened on charges of causing death of two or more persons through negligence.

The fire in a 22-stoyer apartment house was reported at 06:42 local time (04:42 Moscow time) on Thursday. Rescuers evacuated 51 out of 72 persons registered at this house. Two were hospitalized with burns. Seven dead bodies, including three children aged 8, 11 and 16, were recovered from the debris. An investigation is underway.
