MOSCOW, November 7 (Itar-Tass) — Newly appointed Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has come into office and already fulfills the duties as defense minister, the press and information department of the Russian Defense Ministry told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
At present, Shoigu is conducting working meetings with the top brass of the Russian Armed Forces during which Shoigu familiarizes himself with the situation in different fields of the activities of the defense ministry, the source said.
Shoigu has concentrated on problems of organization of effective military management to ensure the planned everyday activity of troops and on priority directions of the work in the framework of the tasks set forth by the president of the Russian Federation, the defense ministry source said.
In accordance with the presidential instructions Sergei Shoigu has been reinstated in his military rank as General of the Army, the Defense Ministry said.
