BRUSSELS, November 7 (Itar-Tass) — The date of the nearest Russia-NATO Council session at the level of defence ministers has not specified yet, the Alliance’s deputy spokesperson, Carmen Romero, said.
It is timely to talk about such meeting, Romero told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
In addition, she said the defence ministers of 28 NATO countries would meet in February 2013.
Answering a question if the Alliance ministerial meeting can take place in parallel with the Russia-NATO Council session, the deputy spokesperson said this issue had not been discussed yet with Russia. This is still awhile away from now that is why it is timely to talk about it, Romero said.
At the same time, she recalled that the Russian and NATO foreign ministers would meet in Brussels in December 2012. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will take part in the meeting.
As a rule the Russia-NATO Council gathers in parallel with the NATO ministerial meetings what is conditioned by purely organisational reasons.
