HANOI, November 7 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung agreed to deepen the cooperation in energy.
“We had very substantial and intense negotiations,” Medvedev said on Wednesday following the talks. “We have covered all aspects of the relations, and paid special attention to the trade and economic ties.”
Medvedev stressed that over nine months the trade turnover between Russia and Vietnam grew by 150 percent, thus by 2015, it may reach seven billion dollars.
During the negotiations, the two countries discussed construction of a first nuclear power plant in Vietnam. The prime ministers paid attention to work of Russian companies in Vietnam.
“We shall have new projects with participation of Gazprom,” Medvedev said. “We welcome appearance in the market of new companies – LUKOIL and TNK-BP.”
Besides, Medvedev continued, the two countries would develop cooperation in electric energy, machinery construction, agriculture, development of natural resources’ deposits, and in the banking sphere.
The Russian prime minister stressed the traditional cooperation between the two countries in the humanitarian sphere would continue, too. He mentioned a project to organise in Vietnam a Russian technology university.
