VLADIVOSTOK, November 5 (Itar-Tass) — The scuba divers of the Sakhalin rescue tugboat Rubin prepare to survey the so far unidentified underwater object spotted by an echo sounder on Sunday in the area of the disappearance of the bulker Amurskaya in the Sea of Okhotsk near Shantar Islands. According to the "Yuzhnosakhalinsk" sea rescue coordinating subcenter, Rubin's rescue party measured depth in the area of the object and found it to be 23 to 25 metres.

The tugboat skipper radioed that weather in the area of the search deteriorated: waves are up to two metres high, wind velocity mounted to 18 metres per second. The sea current rate of movement is 4-5 knots. Underwater survey operations are now impossible for safety reasons.

In storm weather, the Rubin broke adrift and is now drifting along the coast of Khabarovsk Territory. An underwater survey willl be carried out only after weather improves.
