MOSCOW, November 4 (Itar-Tass) —— A rally of the nationalistic movements began in downtown Moscow on Sunday. The rally is being held on the Krymsky Val Street at the Central House of Artist.
Before the rally the demonstrators passed in a march dubbed Russian march from the Yakimanskaya Embankment. About 6,000 people were participating in the march, while the organizers claimed for 10,000 participants.
The activists with the icons were marching in the head of the columns. The march stretched out at such a long distance that not all of them came up to the Krymsky Val Street yet, though some participants in the action left the venue right after the march.
In general, no serious incidents were reported during the march, though some young people were launching flares and smoke charges. But the police did not detain anyone. Meanwhile, the faces of many demonstrators were covered with scarves and gauzes that is a violation of the rules for a massive action.
The demonstrators were chanting nationalistic and anti-presidential slogans. They traditionally demanded cancel Article 282 of the Criminal Code, though they were crying out quite social slogans “Sober Russia will become Great!” and pagan slogans “Glory to Perun!”
The Moscow authorities permitted the march and the rally, though the Russian march raised an ambiguous response in the society and the Moscow authorities even asked to ban it.
The rally continues. The police patrols were reinforced in the area of the rally, about 2,000 policemen and voluntary guards ensure security at the Russian march.
The Russian march is held already for four years and for the first time in the centre of Moscow, before this the Moscow authorities permitted it in the Moscow district Lyublino.
