VLADIVOSTOK, November 4 (Itar-Tass) —— The debris was found in the search area of the bulk carrier Amurskaya in the Sea of Okhotsk along with the oil stain. “The echo depth sounder spotted some change in the depth in the search area, the divers are about to submerge,” the press service of the Russian Transport Ministry quoted the captain of the rescue ship Rubin on Sunday.
The divers will submerge to examine an object spotted by the echo depth sounder, only when all calculations for their safety are made, the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk maritime rescue coordination centre reported. The current speed is up to four knots, and high waves are reported in the search area of the bulk carrier. The Rubin ship anchored, a boat was set afloat from the ship, the rescuers are seeking to catch the underwater object with an anchor to spot this place with a buoy.
The coastline has also been searched through westward and eastward on Sunday. A total of 40 kilometres have been searched through, but in vain. The weather in the search area is the following: the winds are 4-6 metres per second, the waves are up to one metre high, the visibility is five nautical miles, the air temperature is one degree Celsius and the water temperature is four degrees Celsius.
The bulk carrier Amurskaya loaded with 700-750 tonnes of gold-bearing concentrate set out from Kiran in the Khabarovsk Territory in a stormy weather on October 28. On the same day the emergency radio beacon of the bulk carrier went off, the vessels, which rushed in the area, where the bulker was in distress, did not find the vessel. The crew of the bulker consists of nine sailors from the Primorye and Khabarovsk Territories, their fate remains unclear.
