MOSCOW, November 3 (Itar-Tass) – Breaching of a gas pipeline occurred to the east of Moscow City in the small hours of Saturday.
The leak of gas set ten residential houses ablaze, Russia’s Ministry for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense /EMERCOM/ said.
“The breaching of the pipeline near the Moscow-Shchelkovo automobile road produced a fire that engulfed ten private houses,” an EMERCOM spokesman said.
The accident may cut short gas supplies to two in the Moscow region – Balashikha with a population of around 187,000 people and Monino, which is home to about 23,000 residents.
The outage of the service may also affect the township of Chernoye.
