YEKATERINBURG, November 2 (Itar-Tass) — A drug rehabilitant from the City Without Drugs fund began to give testimony about the tortures against the drug addicts by staffers of the men’s drug rehabilitation centre, where the searches are being made on Friday. The drug rehabilitant has already said to the video camera that “the guards of the fund brought him forcibly in the centre,” and said about the system of punishment from psychological to physical violence, to which the rehabilitants of the centre were exposed.
The detectives and policemen are making massive searches at the Yekaterinburg office of the City Without Drugs fund to find “objects, documents and other storage mediums, which are important for a full, unbiased and comprehensive investigation in the criminal case, which was opened last June under an article of the Criminal Code for illegal deprivation of freedom.
Meanwhile, the inmates of the men’s rehabilitation centre City Without Drugs blocked the door and did not open it to the detectives and the police for about ten minutes.
“The police commandoes broke down the bars on the windows and the law enforcers entered the centre,” the press service reported.
It is noteworthy that Public figure Yevgeny Roizman, a founder of the fund, has no legal relation to the fund, a source in the regional police department told Itar-Tass on Friday. In the documents of the fund Shchipachev is named as president, and Malenkin as his deputy. Meanwhile, a law firm is registered in the building of the fund, which is a monument of architecture and that was passed for a free use to the fund in violation of the law. “It is obvious that the public fund yielded some profit, renting the premises,” the press service said.
