Suspect in Zabaikalye drug control office blast detained

He had exploded around 50 grams of TNT placed on the drug control department’s window “just for a joke”

ULAN-UDE, November 2 (Itar-Tass) — Police have detained an eighteen-year old resident of the Krasnoyarsk territory suspected of causing an explosion in the Borzinsky district drug control department in Russia’s Baikal region, the regional investigative department told Itar-Tass on Friday.

The explosion occurred at night on October 29. Nobody was injured in the blast.

The detained person said he had exploded around 50 grams of TNT placed on the drug control department’s window “just for a joke.”

An investigation is underway. The man is accused of illegal storage and production of explosives and infringement on life of a law enforcer.
