NALCHIK, November 2 (Itar-Tass) — The police of the Kabardino-Balkaria together with the republic’s department of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) are searching for two armed criminals that at about 21:00 MSK on Thursday in the town of Baksan shot dead 25-year-old operative of the criminal investigation unit of the Baksan district police department of Russia’s Interior Ministry (MVD) Lieutenant Mukhamed Chechenov, the press service of the republican Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Friday.
“The officer died on the spot from gunshot wounds. The militants seized his service weapon,” a police spokesman said. According to him, the republic’s interior minister issued an order to activate the Vulcan-4 interception plan in the Baksan district. In addition, the counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced starting from 21:30 MSK in Baksan.
