Russian airline companies resume flights to New York

Passengers booked for flights which were canceled on October 29-31 may apply to an Aeroflot office and either return their air tickets with no fine charged

MOSCOW, November 1 (Itar-Tass) — Russian airline companies have resumed flights to New York earlier canceled because of the hurricane in the northeast of the United States.

As of November 1 all Aeroflot flights- SU 100/101, Su 101/103 connecting Moscow with New York are performed to schedule, Aeroflot said in a statement.

Passengers booked for flights which were canceled on October 29-31 may apply to an Aeroflot office and either return their air tickets with no fine charged, or change the date of departure ( until November 10, inclusive) or the flight route in the framework of the Aeroflot flight schedule if vacant seats are available.

The Russian Transaero airline has also resumed flights to New York on Thursday. Having studied the actual situation at JFK airport in New York and after obtaining all the necessary permissions from the airport administration and the U.S. aviation authorities Transaero made a decision that its flight No. 1111/2222 Moscow -New York -Moscow scheduled for October 31 is to be performed on November 1, Transaero said in a statement.

The flight departed from Domodedovo airport at 11. 10 am Moscow time Thursday. This is the only flight Transaero postponed for 24 hours because of the hurricane. The other Transaero flights to the United States were performed according to schedule.
